As we enter a period of isolation at home, I really want to encourage you to have a wellbeing plan in place for yourself. For example, exercise daily, drink lots of water, do things you know are good for you personally, keep up social contact online with friends/family and eat well to boost your immune system.
One thing that I’d like to write about today that could be helpful is meditating daily, which also boosts your immunity.
I have been meditating every day for the past six weeks as part of a course I have been following called Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and I have experienced some the benefits – (see the infographic below) and it’s not just me – Science shows regular meditation changes your brain.
I would like to encourage you to try meditating for 1-15 minutes each day during this month and see where it takes you. Of course, you are in no way obligated to do so 🙂
All you will need is a yoga mat or a place to lie down to consciously focus on the breath. When your thoughts wander, bring your attention back to the breath.It could be useful to use a recording of a guided meditation, and you can even do the same one every day as your experience will be different each time.
